Save the Children International is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Project coordinator. Reporting to the Project Manager for Green Jobs 4 Youths & Adolescents (GJ4Y&A). The position holder is responsible for district level implementation of Green Jobs for Youths & Adolescents (GJ4Y&A) in coordination with TEVETA and Mzuzu E-Hub. The Green Jobs for Youths & Adolescents interventions will be delivered to improve decent jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for the youths, promotion of green skills that contribute to positive social and environmental outcomes (including technical, vocational, financial) and addressing the intersecting challenges that youths face i.e. gender inequality, limited opportunities, ableism and gender based violence. The Project Coordinator will work with stakeholders based at the district to achieve the project’s goals and objectives. He/she is responsible for the development of a shared analysis of local issues, joint problem solving and program development with key contacts and key players. At the district implementation level he/she will be responsible for ensuring technical management of the project including in planning, budgeting, resource management, monitoring and reporting. S/he will travel extensively to project implementation areas.
In case of emergencies or humanitarian situation, the position holder will be required to support in response as assigned by the Country Office and will be required to work outside the normal profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Location: This position will be based in either Ntcheu or Mzimba.
