Workshop Welder and Fabricator Full Time

Castel Malawi Limited (CML) and its subsidiaries are leading players in the beverages manufacturing industry in the country. In its drive to ensure improved and sustained efficiency and effectiveness in its Supply Chain operations, Castel Malawi Limited has revamped its internal Workshop Operations. We therefore seek to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill the vacant position of Workshop Welder and Fabricator, in our Workshop section.

Purpose of the Job

The position exists to:
To ensure that all welding work, body manufacturing, repairs and maintenance are carried out on trucks and trailers to achieve optimum fleet image and utilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Confirm own attendance and update register by reporting to the supervisor on duty upon arrival at workplace daily.
• Observe working and resting hours as per company condition of service.
• Ensure that all welding work, body manufacturing, repairs and maintenance are carried out on trucks and trailers following proper  outlined procedures as per the work profiles.
• Adhere to company regulations and road traffic act when maintaining company vehicles.
• Carry out proper body maintenance procedures right first time to avoid repeat jobs.
• Spares requisition must always be raised and approved when drawing spares from stores.
• Ensure that job cards are fully completed and submitted to supervisor for authentication 15 minutes after job completion.
• All uncompleted jobs must be hand over to the supervisor on duty before knocking off.
• Use proper tools, equipment and site during any vehicle maintenance to enhance asset safety and security
• Always adhere to health, safety and environmental legislative and corporate requirements
• Carry out any other duties that may have been assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

• Malawi School Certificate of Education
• Welding and Fabrication Grade 1 (NTTC) plus TEVETA Certificates.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Welder working on heavy vehicles and machines such as MAN, IVECO and TCM Forklifts
