VSO is the world’s leading international development charity that works through volunteers to create a fair world for everyone. At VSO we pride ourselves on doing development differently. We fight poverty not by sending aid, but by working through volunteers and partners to create long-lasting change in some of the world’s poorest regions. We bring key stakeholders together to co-ordinate collective action, from local organisations to national governments. Our programmes in Africa and Asia focus on health, education and livelihoods, with an increasing emphasis on resilience, peace building, social accountability, gender and social inclusion. We’re not about delivering quick fixes, but instead we focus on long-lasting, sustainable change that will improve the lives of generations to come.
In this global job you will play a key role in supporting Grant Financial Management of Project Teams on Risk & Compliance Management, with a specific focuss on Multi-Country, MultiLateral, and Consortia donor Awards (sharing responsibility for bilateral grant caseload with a colleague in a similar role, who is leading on USG grants).
You will provide expertise on budget, expenditure, risk and compliance management to project teams, develop and improve systems, tools, guidance, and reports to implement award terms and conditions, promote data-led management decision-making, and improve the quality of accountability that is in line with donor rules and regulations, VSO’s policies and procedures and VSO’s Volunteering for Development approach.
This role is full time and homebased and can be done from any country where VSO is registered and has a right to employ. Please ensure that you have the right to work in your location before you apply as we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position. We offer national terms and conditions for this role.
Skills, qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in risk and compliance management of large scale and complex awards with a focus on Multi-Country, MultiLateral, and Consortia donor Awards.
