Mine General Manager Full Time

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above post at Kaziwiziwi coal mine in Rumphi District.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, organising and supervising the activities of a mine (planning details of production activities in terms of output, quality, quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements)
• In charge of operation of production plant and quality procedures through planning of maintenance, designation of operating hours, and supply of parts and tools
• Oversee the acquisition, installation, maintenance and storage of mining plant and equipment
• Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance
• Controlling the preparation of production records and reports
• Co-ordination of the implementation of occupational health and safety requirements

Qualifications

• At least five years work experience in a similar position in the mine industry
  Knowledgeable in the laws, regulations and codes of practice relevant to safety in mining operations
• Result-oriented and organized when leading the team
• Knowledge of vendor management and business process improvement (has to be verifiable from the past working experience)
• City and Guilds Certificates
• Valid drivers license
• Must have certificates in Safety Health and workshop Management
