Floresta will begin its work by targeting a few key watersheds in the Viphya Plateau region of northern Malawi because of its steep terrain, deforestation, and level of poverty. SPIRITUAL RENEWAL OFFICER (SRO)

Brief Job Summary

Reporting to: Program Director
Location: Field Office
Positions reporting to the job holder: None

Job Purpose

The ERO Officer reports directly to the Program Director and has the overall responsibility of strengthening partner capacities in matters relating to spiritual renewal, coordinating seminars and training on Theology of Labour practices within Floresta partner churches and associations, participating in the design and adaptation of training modules on the themes of Spiritual Renewal deemed essential in the communities; and ensuring Christian education is linked to the commitment of young people to holistic development and motivating and supporting partners to carry out projects related to holistic development. The core functions of the position are the planning, implementation, and reporting of ER activities, designing and adapting training modules on SR themes, animating, mocerating, and supporting seminars with leaders of partner churches, coordinating moments of prayers, and promoting spiritual renewal and writing of thanksgiving, and prayer topics to share with partners.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Theology/Religious education with at least 3 years of experience.
• Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Serving Anglican priests are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated experience in Community Development.
• Must be able to work effectively independently, in a team situation, and supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, excellent organization, communication, and writing skills.
• Good teamwork and networking skills.
• A class C driver’s license is a must.
• Three years of proven experience in a similar position in an NGO setting/Organization
• Excellent computer skills, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

REMUNERATION:

The successful candidates shall be offered a negotiated performance-related contract for a period of two years, with an attractive salary and benefits package commensurate with the seniority of the position.
