Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of over 2 million children who today will receive a Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals Malawi is our largest school feeding programme, and we work closely with schools and community volunteers who help prepare and serve the nutritious meals every school day.

Marys Meals Malawi is looking to recruit energetic and motivated individuals for the position of:
Communications Manager – (Permanent Position based in Blantyre)

Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Communications, the Communications Manager (CM) is responsible for MMM communications; Resource Mobilisation functions and ensuring smooth running of the Sponsor a School programme in Malawi.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies (PR/ Journalism) or relevant field/subject from a recognisable institution.
  • At least 3 years’ proven experience working within communications in an NGO setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with all types of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc).
  • Working knowledge of all Adobe applications i.e., InDesign, Premier Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Programmes, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Good photography skills.
  • Strong Writing and editing skills.
  • Good organisational, planning and coordinating skills.
  • A strategic thinker.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise as necessary.
  • Pro-active in collecting and sharing new developments in relation to the program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain good communications channels at all levels within the organization.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Good communication skills across all levels and with a wide range of different people.
  • Dependable honest and always fostering an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
  • Excellent Team Supervisory skills.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
