Security & Compliance Lead Full Time

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for implementing Safety, Health, Security and Environment Policy in line with industry regulations, business strategies and technology for sustained improvement. Ensuring physical health and safety of Airtel employees, business associates and all other individuals within any of its premises. Proving Security measures to ensure the company’s facilities and other assets are secured from unauthorised access, damage or interference.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation and regular review of Safety, Health, and Environment management Systems:

• Operating efficiently and safety in ways that minimize risk and hazards to employees, partners, customers, facilities and the   environment.
• Proactively identifying, assessing, and managing all SHSE risks associated with its operations as a proactive measure of ensuring zero incident level.
• Achieving cost effective Safety and Health solutions essential to its long-term business sustainability
• Emphasizing individual responsibility, accountability and adherence to its Safety and Health Standards and procedures.
• Enhancing Safety, Health and environmental awareness amongst employees, strategic partners and third parties through trainings, consultation and proactive communication.
• Implementing Safety and Health Management Systems and practices that exceed minimum compliance with relevant regulatory, statutory and non-statutory requirements.
• Establishing emergency and contingency plans to deal with identified or potential risks.

Security policies and procedures development and implementation:

• Planning and implementing proper security and safety programs and systems within budget
• Implementing company security procedures within budget
• Implementing policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions

Proving Security measures to the company’s facilities, human capital in collaboration with SCM and other assets:

• Responsible for site and building access, patrol, monitoring staff, visitors and the public to ensure compliance with security procedures, information exchange and reporting of unusual or emergency conditions to appropriate authorities.
• Supervision of day to day security programs and operations.

Plan and advise Management on all security related issues:

• Implementing systems and security procedures for crisis management
• Security policy and procedures communicated to all staff
• Reducing costs arising from security breaches

Lead all Criminal investigations that arise, in liaison with the police:

• Follow through and appropriate closure of all criminal cases
• Ensuring security and confidentiality of Information
• Adhering to laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and the democratic political process

Reports and Incident Reporting:

• Ensuring all incidents involved with company vehicles are timely reported and investigated
• Making follows ups on all incidents and reporting accidents on time and following up on action to be taken
• Ensuring fleet security incidences are timely reported, managed and closed
• Ensuring that accident reports are timely submitted, and documentation is properly maintained.

Governance and Sustainability:

• Responsible for Internal Governance Audits and Information Security & Compliance.

Fleet Management:

• Maintains database of all cars involved in accidents
• Ensure settlement of insurance claims are timely done
• Assist in reviewing fleet management procedures, guidelines, processes and implementation.
• Facilitate availability of road worth vehicles in line with business demands
• Conducts surprise audits to vehicle log books and fuel cards in custody of the users
• Analyze vehicle status make recommendations on vehicle retention and disposal.
• Monitor all pool vehicle users with respect to fuel consumption, and alert respective supervisors of any suspected abuse

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:

• Degree in Environmental Health or Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualifications
• Security Studies and/or any related qualification

Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years):

• Working knowledge of local regulations and Industry Best practices.
• Experience in the operation of safety systems, which can be audited to International Standards.
• At least 5 years’ experience in telecoms and FCMG environment
• Knowledge of the Telecom Industry is an added advantage
