ActionAid Malawi is a locally registered non‐governmental organisation under the Company’s Act 1984 as a company limited by guarantee and is affiliated to ActionAid International, a federation of national organizations working in over 45 countries in Africa, Asia, America and Europe regions. ActionAid International is a global justice Federation working to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty eradication. ActionAid works to strengthen the capacity and active agency of people living in poverty and exclusion, especially women, to assert their rights.
ActionAid Malawi is implementing the Valuing Women’s Work (VWW) program, and this is an initiative that exemplifies on-the-ground implementation of ActionAid’s theory of change and delivery of federation-wide priorities to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty eradication.
At the center of the program is the collectivization and mobilization of young women in urban spaces to influence local, national, and international decision-makers to implement policy actions that respond to young women’s demands on economic security, reproductive justice, and gender responsive public services.

Reporting to: Business Development Grants Management & Communication Manager and the Valuing Women`s Work(VWW) Program Coordinator.
Duration: August 2023 to April 2026
Location: Lilongwe
This role is responsible for growing feminist digital advocacy engagement with young people and our target audiences of decision makers, policy makers and civil society organisations in Malawi and around the world. It oversees VWW program social media content and growth and leads the analysis of our digital performance. It plays a central role in understanding the behaviour of our local and international digital audiences, maximising online political and advocacy opportunities, and delivering high-quality digital impact on VWW programme objectives.
