Transport and OBC Assistant Full Time

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Transport and OBC Assistant in the Operations Department. The successful candidate will report to the Transport Manager and the engagement will be on a fixed-term contract.

The major activities of the position are:

  • Interface between the transporters, the businesses, and the depots to optimize transportation flow.
  • Ensure deployment of the (Road Transport Management Program) PATROM rules and standards.
  • Implement and follow up the Transportation action plan.
  • Implement and follow up on transportation activity KPIs.
  • Implement the corrective and preventive actions defined following accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure OBC breaches are followed up.
  • Enforce defined sanctions to be applied with the transporters in the case of Onboard Computer (OBC) breaches.
  • Carry out trend analysis of technical anomalies recorded and put forward action plans to reduce them.
  • Check and update emergency phone numbers, addresses, and Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates.
  • Manage client complaints linked to product deliveries.
  • Take part in accident/incident analyses and investigations with the Health Safety & Environment Manager (HSE) Manager.
  • Participate in internal/external audits and follow up on action plan.
  • Monitor OBC violations and take necessary action on drivers.

Qualification and Experience

  • University graduate in Engineering with professional experience in transportation, logistics, and in team management.
  • Capable of understanding complex processes and how they affect information systems.
  • Negotiation capabilities, rigor, high integrity standards, and ability to anticipate and react quickly.
  • Good command of English, written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of key business drivers that affect profitability.
  • Good cross-functional & and teamwork attitudes.
