MUSCCO is a national democratically controlled apex organization of Savings and Credit
Cooperatives (SACCOs) affiliated to it. It was established in 1980 with a mandate to
promote, develop, support and service Savings and Credit Cooperatives affiliated to it in
Malawi. MUSCCO provides services to its member SACCOs who in turn provide services
to their members. There are currently 43 SACCOs affiliated to MUSCCO across the country.
MUSCCO’s Head Office is located in Lilongwe and has two regional offices in Blantyre
and Mzuzu. MUSCCO would like to recruit an energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic
Malawians to fill a vacant position as per below:
A. POSITION: CENTRAL FINANCE FACILITY (CFF) BUSINESS COORDINATOR
Reporting to and supervised by : The Head of Finance, HR and Administration
Location: Lilongwe
Employment type: Contractual based (renewable every 3 years)
Job Field: Central Finance Facility Business Unit
Preferred Start Date: 1st November, 2023
The job holder will be responsible for managing day to day Central Finance Facility
business with affiliated SACCOs which includes, but not limited to, developing competitive
and member centric financial products and services for affiliate SACCOs, undertaking
marketing activities towards growing CFF business, providing upmarket financial services
to SACCOs while ensuring regulatory compliance. He/she reports to the MUSCCO Head
of Finance, HR and Administration.
1. Grow the Central Finance Facility Savings and Loan Portfolios
2. To design and develop product and services that will satisfy various market segments based on market research findings;
3. Build a methodical and focused approach to business development in identified sectors for SACCOs
4. Monitor, implement and review the Central Finance Facility’s Workplan, policies and
procedure manuals as relates to the business purpose.
5. Identify market niches and craft appropriate strategies for reaching existing and
potential members.
6. Develop business relationships, generate and negotiate financial services contracts with SACCOs, potential donors and financiers
7. Ensure monthly account statements to members
8. Work with accounting personnel to ensure that all CFF transactions reflect accurate position.
9. Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly CFF Reports to Management, Board and regulator
The successful candidates shall be offered a negotiated performance related contract for a
period of three years with an attractive salary, benefits and gratuity package commensurate
with the seniority of the position.
