Billing Specialist

Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Malawian candidates to fill the vacant position of Billing Specialist tenable at its Head Office in Blantyre.

Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Management and Control, the main purpose of the job is to manage the billing processes.

The main duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for end-to-end post-paid customers billing operational activities.
  • Analysing the root cause of the billing incidents and propose process improvements.
  • Perform billing statistics to ensure billing accuracy, trends and discrepancies and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Supports revenue assurance teams with necessary billing reports.
  • Production of the postpaid service billing revenue reports.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Should have a Degree in Business Information Systems or a related field plus two years’ experience.
  • Must be a holder of MSCE or its equivalent
  • Should have experience in Open-Source Technologies and UNIX Operating system.
  • Should have worked on more than one billing areas (Interconnection, Mediation, Prepaid Billing, Postpaid Billing.)
  • Should be able to work under stress and be a team player.
  • Should have sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Should have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Should be honest, result oriented and of good integrity.
