 VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

ShareWORLD Open University invites applications from suitably qualified persons with Education background for the following full time positions tenable at the Lilongwe campus:

Examination Officer

This position reports to the University Registrar. The position coordinates all students’ examinations processes, including moderation, administration and grading among other things.

Responsibilities

The position of Examination Officer has the following responsibilities, but not limited to

  • Oversee the implementation of the University’s Examination Policy, in collaboration with Faculties and Quality Assurance Office.
  • Provide advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff on the implementation of the University’s Examination Policies and Procedures.
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders including students, Heads of Departments, Lecturers and other awarding teams.
  • Co-ordinate the process of examinations from moderation to release of results.
  • Analyze the University’s academic data, including examination results.
  • Ensure that the University’s examination standards conform with the best practice nationally and meet the requirements of the National Council of Higher Education and other validating bodies.
  • Manage invigilators. This includes training new invigilators and updating existing invigilators on rules and regulation changes on an annual basis.

Qualification and Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration or related field.
  • Not less than 3 years teaching experience
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage complex operations.
  • Proficiency in data management system and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Mature individual between 35 years – 50 years of age.
